Building a business

I remember thinking. I had to have my shit together to be successful in this business. I quickly realized that was never gonna happen ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜. I am a disaster most times. I hate getting ready or getting dressed. Iโ€™m messy and chaotic. I swear a ton. I drink (less then one month till I will be reunited with beer ๐Ÿบ). I care about my team and clients with my whole heart. Their success means everything to me. Iโ€™m a homebody. My family is my world. Iโ€™m far from perfect.

You know when success started to happen? When I showed up being ๐Ÿ’ฏ me. When I showed up with heart and hustle. Put my blinders on. Put my head down and I worked.

My business is easy in the tasks that I do. Because itโ€™s a passion. But it takes hard work. I love it! I found my calling. So if youโ€™ve been waiting to jump in till you reached your โ€œgoalโ€ body. Till you have your shit together. Till whatever else BS you say to your self. Iโ€™m saying get started now. Jump build your wings on the way down. .

Progress Over Perfection

Progress. The focus is always on the physical. You know that โ€œgoalโ€ body. What about the mental?

Let me tell you. If you did not LOVE yourself before a physical transformation you still wonโ€™t after. You will constantly be judging yourself, critiquing every little flaw. Pinching your skin where you feel there should be less. Covering the stretch marks. Seeing the cellulite.
And you know what social media does not help, right? Photoshop and filters. Poses and lighting. Flaws hidden to achieve this look of perfection. Where you start to compare.
Let me tell you. Perfection does not exist. Itโ€™s boring! And that perfectly posed girl online that is flawless with the perfect body is not you. You are your super power.

You want a summer body? You have one. Any body is a summer body. Seriously!
I struggled this for a long time. I would have not shared this pic because you can see my saggy ass stomach. Hide the stretch marks, they look gross. Exact thoughts. Ugh I hate my thighs. Letโ€™s not wear shorts even though itโ€™s 90000 degrees. ๐Ÿ™„ Iโ€™ll never be like her. Let me get this skin removed then Iโ€™ll be happy.

All this is bull shit. You know when the shift came? When I stopped focusing on a diet on a goal body or a goal weight. I donโ€™t give a shit what the scale says. Itโ€™s a lifestyle I eat healthy because I feel best when doing that. I have energy! Right now Iโ€™m on a timed nutrition plan and following to a T just because I want to prove to myself that I can. After it will be balance and moderation. Living my damn life and loving it. I workout to keep my heart healthy and my head right. To have energy! And I read personal development. This is the most life changing ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿป. I used to think thatโ€™s dumb but get your mind right, have faith in yourself. And everything else falls into place.

So focus on loving you! If you donโ€™t believe in you to make a healthy lifestyle change find someone that does. Embrace every single fucking flaw. Change your negative self talk. Because you can do anything!

Chicken Tinga Tacos

Not sure wtf Tinga is… but these are amazing. And all my kids (but one who likes to give me a hard time about everything. ) loved them!

You Need

1 cup low sodium chicken broth

1tsp unflavored gelatin

1Tbsp olive oil

3/4 cup chopped onion (I ran this through the food processor. So you get the taste but the kids don’t know.

1 jalapeรฑo Pepper deveined and deseeded (optional if you do not like spice level out. put in with the onion)

4 cloves garlic finely chopped (i used minced from a jar)

1 cup tomato puree

1 Tbsp chili powder

1tsp dried oregano

2 canned chipotle chili peppers in adobo sauce finely chopped

1 Tbspย adobo sauce (sauce from the canned chipotle chili peppers in adobo sauce)

3 cups shredded chicken breast. ( i cooked some chicken breast in the crock pot all day. but you could use a rotisserie chicken to save time! )

1. Sprinkle broth with gelatin in a small bowl. Set aside.

2. Heat oil in medium nonstick skillet over medium high heat until fragrant.

3. Add onion and jalapeรฑo ; cook, stirring frequently, for 3 to 5 minutes, or until onion is translucent.

4. Add garlic; cook, stirring frequently, for 1 minute.

5. Add broth mixture, tomato puree, chili powder, oregano, ย chipotle chili peppers, adobo sauce, ย chicken, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low; gently boil, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes, or until sauce is reduced by half.

6. Remove bay leaves. Divide 3โ„4 cup

Serve on 2 corn tortillas or hard taco shells. 3/4 cup is one serving and has a serving of veggies in it!

I turned mine into a salad. By doing 1 cup of spinach 2 hard taco shells crumbled. The chicken 1/4 cup of combined diced avocado and cheese. dollop of plain greek yogurt and a drizzle of taco sauce.

This counts as 2 Veggies 1 Carb 1 Protein 1 Healthy Fat

34 Days In…

Did I tell you all that I went back to the program that gave me life again after my surgery last year that put me in surgical menopause?

Well I did! And I feel AMAZING! I decided to go all in! 100% follow the meal plan and the workouts. You see I did this before. I did great until day 51 and then I went to Kid Rock and I hard core cheated. Like drank all the beer ate everything in sight. All day long and the next I had to have hangover foods ha! After that I went back on the plan but allowed cheats. Like a few glasses of wine. treats. You know. I still saw great results.

But lately In my fitness journey I was doing the workouts still and saying I was following my container system. What I was not saying that I was eating a bag or Ghirardelli dark ย chocolate chips in 2 days. Im not kidding. Lol. I was not really practicing the portion control well. I was not really feeling that great. My hot flashes were coming back. I was uncomfortable and a bit moody.

Sweet Potato fritters

Ingredients 

1lbs sweet potatoes (roughly 3 med) peeled and grated

2 eggs (beat)

1tsp onion powder

2tbsp whole wheat flour

himalayan salt

Black pepper

2% plain greek yogurt (optional for topping)

olive oil spray

Combine and mix all ingredients. use 1/3 measuring cup and measure out and smash onto a greased backing sheet. You will get 8 total. Back at 350 for 15 min. Flip and cook for an additional 15 min. serve topped with greek yogurt. For the portion fix 1 equals to 1 yellow container.

Eat That Frog

Eat. That. Frog ๐Ÿธ.

Say what?! I listened to this book years ago. By Brian Tracey, in my car when I was running the kids somewhere. Called Eat That Frog. Itโ€™s about getting the hard things done. You know the stuff that you absolutely donโ€™t want to do but know itโ€™s important to get you towards your goals.

For me. This is my workout. That is why it gets done first thing in the morning. Itโ€™s why I have a specific routine. I do this first. Because the longer I wait the less likely I am to do it. The more likely I am to stall and waist more precious time. .
I hear constantly, โ€œIโ€™m not a morning person.โ€, โ€œI really like to sleep.โ€ , โ€œI donโ€™t have your motivation.โ€ , โ€œI donโ€™t have the time.โ€

I also used to say them! I love sleep. I want to stay in bed all day lol. But after I lost my Dad to a heart attack. My health became a priority. The adjustment in my sleep became worth it. Working out for my HEALTH. Was a priority.
So I eat the frog. I get it done first. Then my Day happens.

Ultimate Portion Fix

I have been using the portion fix meal plan for YEARS now. So often that I look at foods as a color now. Ha! Some of you def. will not understand that. But if you have done any of Autumn Calabrese’s fitness programs you get me!

The plan is using portion containers and they are specific colors. You get a certain number a day and it makes meal planning really easy.

Green = Veggies

Purple + Fruit

Red = Protein

Yellow = Carbs

I hardly pull out those babies and measure. When I do my results are fabulous and I feel so much better!
