Ingredients.
bell peppers (1 per person)
Onion
Minced garlic
Tomato Puree (whatever sauce you would like to use. If you don’t make your own. Find one with lower sugar.)
Mixed Italian cheese
Basil – 1Tbsp
Crushed red pepper -1 tsp
1/2 cup diced bell pepper
1 egg
Ketchup 2Tbsp
1lbs extra lean ground turkey
1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/3 cup old fashioned oats.
In the crock pot throw in sauce. Onion kin removed whole for flavor. if you like onion dice it up! Add the diced peppers, basil, garlic, and crushed red pepper. Put on low.
Make the meatballs by combining the turkey, egg, ketchup, garlic, bread crumbs and oats. Roll out meat balls and place them into the sauce. Cook that all day.
For the peppers cut in half and remove seeds place into an oiled baking dish. Cook at 350 until it reaches your desired softness. I did like 40 min. Place the meatball in the pepper and top with sauce and cheese. Bake until cheese melts! Enjoy.
