Body Shaming

So this is a touchy subject. Although I may reach out to ALL body types to join a challenge. That is not me calling anyone fat. That is me believing that everybody should work towards being healthy. There is no right size. Healthy comes in all forms whether your a zero or 16 and frankly I don’t give a shit what size you are. I just want everyone to be happy and healthy. I love what I do and I want to share it with everybody 😍😍😘.

So there’s all this hatred everywhere and body image now, in a day of Photoshop is tough.

But I just want you to remember one thing…

If someone is knocking you down for being to skinny, fat, strong, tan, blah blah blah. It is not you they are worried about they are insecure in themselves. And they need to take a look at what they don’t like about themselves and make a change instead of being haters.

Carry on you are perfect!

Break

So I found out I have a kidney issue… I won’t find out exactly what is wrong until I get the lab results back. But that explains why I’ve been so run down!!!

So I will be taking a break from the workouts even though it is transition week and I think the workouts may be lighter, but I am not sure since I have never done this program before. The medicine they put me on says to refrain from exercise it can cause joint swelling. I don’t want to force more injury while my body tries to repair…

I will be focusing on nutrition though. Proper nutrition will hopefully help me bounce back more quickly!!

Funk

Unknown-1So I would have to say I have been in a bit of a funk this week. Yep thats right the person that writes about moving your ass just did not want to. I snoozed my alarm every single day this week and I just kind of feel blah. I tried to talk myself out of every single workout and just want to stuff my face and sit on my ass.

So what did I do? I did it anyway. My job is a motivator and how can I do that if I am not doing anything myself? I can’t that would not be “fair” . So I got off my ass and worked out any way. Didn’t enjoy it. Nope not one bit. Watched the clock the entire time, or found myself face planted lying on the floor. hahaha I’m not kidding. I did that during the challenge today while doing one of the multiple sets of push ups. I also know how I feel when I skip it. Not a good feeling to be disappointed in yourself.

Why eat healthy and workout?

So I have been on this journey for around 5 yrs now. Give or take a bit. I have been a coach for 2 yes. I was listening to “You are a Badass.” By Jen Sincere. Why Personal Development?? Well my journey is about overall improvement that’s mentally as well as physically. Part of my job as a coach is to get people to change how they feel about themselves. And well… You can’t give what you don’t have. So I work on it.

She said something that I never really thought on why eat healthy and move.

“We need our bodies far more than our body needs us.”

Huh. Makes you think. Bet you never thought of it like that.

I used to live by the motto. and “Life is short.” Bull shit.

Although time does fly by. Life is not short. And if I can help it I will be around as long as I can.

If you sit on your ass all the time and feed yourself crap. You are going to feel like crap and probably be fat. You have a fast metabolism so you can eat whatever… Right? Wrong. Ever heard of skinny fat?

You may be thin. But what about the stuff you can’t see. Skinny does not mean healthy.

So take care of yourself. Get 30 min of exercise in daily. Hate working out? Grow up. Lol or find something you do like to do!

Make healthy food choices. I’m not saying you can’t ever indulge. In fact just yesterday I housed some general tsos chicken. Hahaha Worth it. Did I feel guilty? Nope I make good choices most of the time. It is about moderation.

What are you going to do to change tour lifestyle? To possibly save your life?!

Failed my Round 3 of the Refresh

I did I failed! Day 3 and I had to eat something other than veggies. Sure I only added a kind bar so there could be worse things… But out of all the times I did the refresh. This one was awful. It was 100% my fault! Normally I feel fantastic. But I was starving, and dizzy and had a head ache that would not go away.

Why did this happen? Easy… I am a stubborn ASS! (Do not tell my husband that I admitted that! I would never live it down hahahaha)

On the refresh you are getting roughly around 900 calories a day. Small amount right?! So you are supposed to keep your workouts light. Think walking or yoga. You know take it kind of easy. Well I promised my new coach that I would be doing it with her! When I run challenge groups I am right in there with you. How can I tell you that you should be doing something if I am sitting on my ass eating bonbons? For me it does not work that way! I may not doing the exact same workout, but I am doing it, following along the meal plan with you, drinking my shakeology. I am right in there with you! Basically working side by side!

I started P90X3 last Monday March 30th. Which is an advanced program. Instead of taking 3 days off of that I kept doing it and did the refresh. Day 1 was ok… But I did a 30 min intense workout then decided I needed to rake for 2 hours. UMMMM Sit down Kala.

“According to Harvard Health, a 125 pound person raking the yard for 30 minutes will burn 120 calories. A 155 pound person will work off 149 calories in the same span. The American Council on Exercise also advises that just 10 minutes of heavy yard work will net a 150 pound person the benefit of an estimated 62 burned calories. In the same time, a 175 pound person sloughs off approximately 73 calories and a 200 pound person sweats off some 83 calories.”

So you see my problem I weight around 145 ( I never in my life thought I would post how much I weigh on the internet)… Day 2 wake up and jump around for 30 min. I told you I was an ass!

Wed woke up then laid in bed for 30 min staring at the ceiling willing myself to move. THANK GOD its yoga day! I should feel fantastic after my shake. WRONG I needed more enter kind bar!! Now I will be finishing out the 3 day refresh not feeling like a normal human being yay!

So my advice! FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. I will totally do the Refresh again! I will not however do an advanced workout with it. I will do it after I finish a program like I have in the past!

On a Diet VS. Having a Diet

Ok scrolling down Facebook wall (I know there are so many things that I should be spending my time doing, but after a long weekend I am tired and zoned out. I would not have found this gem if I did not!)

But she has a point… Being on a diet is so different then having a diet (or living a healthy lifestyle) Everybody is always looking for the quick fix. They want to lose weight the fastest and will do just about any ridiculous thing they find if they hear that they will. But are those Diets sustainable? When you go off the No Carb diet… does the weight stay off? Or you eat more than just Grapefruit? No you know what happens the weight comes right back on, because when you are done. You go on a binge of everything you were depriving yourself of.

Why not just make healthy choices and allow yourself to indulge occasionally? Seriously, I have done the dieting and it sucks. Change your lifestyle! Treat yourself once or twice a week with no guilt. I thoroughly enjoy all my cheats!
