Round 2 of the 21 Day Fix Extreme!!

I did it again!! I finished another round. I freaking love this program. Love Autumn! Today I decided to switch it up and do something different with P90X3. Kind of like damn 90 days?! But oh well. Lets do this! Right?

Back to what I was saying…

I did round 2 of the 21 Day Fix Extreme. I never missed a single workout and ended on time. Here is what I did not do so great…

The meal plan. Not that I ate bad. I generally eat pretty healthy, I have the occasional cheat meal and I just went Gluten free to help with my Endometriosis.  Check out that diet here. I however did not write down what I was eating. Did great with getting my veggies and fruits in! YAY! Slacked a little on Protein and Carbs. I also went way over on the blues… (this is the healthy fats, nuts, cheese) I have a thing for kind bars right now. And Trader Joes just opened near me. They have these spicy sweet pecans. (TO DIE FOR!) I have been snacking on them too much and they have been a nice addition to my salads.

Still proud of myself! Why? Well I did the workout to plan, did not eat bad. My clothes still first great and I added muscle definition. So my dream body by my 30th Bday is still a go!

Remember your Journey does not have to be perfect!!

All or Nothin’

Question… How many of you are like this, you know all or nothing? You can’t workout for a few days so you eat like a pig. You have a binge day you figure whats the point in working out. Or you are like well my path to fitness is already ruined. So I Quit.

images-1Well it does not have to be like that. You can maintain your nutrition and have time off from your workouts. In fact it is actually good to take some breaks from working out occasionally. You will not lose all your progress overnight. You will however be amazed that when you quit eating healthy and working out how quickly you can feel BLAH. Ha! Really the only way to explain it…

You feel bloated, your clothes are tight. You want to get out your fat pants. But if you were doing it right you don’t have those right?! I always suggest when you buy smaller clothes to get rid of your “fat” clothes. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want an option to be able to GROW into my bigger jeans.

Heres the thing, you can have some off days. You know what you do? You JUMP back in. So you had some backwards progress. Who the hell cares! Some bad days will not completely demolish your hard work. I am going to go back to this again. This is a HUGE thing for me and you may have seen it multiple times on this blog.

GO BACK TO THE REASON WHY YOU STARTED IN THE FIRST PLACE! Make your WHY so strong that no matter how bad you screw up you want to get back to it. images

Left mother of 2 Right mother of 3.
Left hated my body, although I’m smiling pretty unhappy battling depression. Right have been off depression meds for over a year loves herself.
Left lost her dad a little over 3 years prior to a heart attack and was headed in the same direction. Right decided she was going to be happy and healthy, make good choices and be a role model for her children and help others as well.

I did not get to the right picture overnight and I won’t lie and say it was easy. Because it wasn’t. Did I want to give up? Absolutely sometimes I did. Did I have set backs? Yep. But there was always that reason WHY…that I was going to be healthy for my kids that I was not going to be gone before I could see them get married and raise babies. That I refuse to put them through that heart ache.

Being healthy is such a PASSION that I became a Beachbody Coach so I can help others get there. There is so much more to your health than the number on the scale and the size of your jeans. Its very much mental as well as physical. Changing the way you think about yourself can be a complete game changer.

Whole roasted cauliflower

I love roasted cauliflower, but sometimes I don’t want to chop it and rinse it. I’m lazy… I know. But I found a post where you roast the entire head! So I’m like I’m gonna try this!

You cut the base of the cauliflower off.

I made a glace you can put over it.
1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1tbsp minced garlic
Sea salt
Ground red pepper
Dash balsamic vinegar

Roast on a pan at 350 for an hr…
Bump the heat to 500 for 15 min. Serve!


Endometriosis Diet

Ok, so if you have read most of my posts you would know that I suffer from Endometriosis. If you have not and this is news to you, first off I would like to say, HOW DARE YOU! Kidding (Read about it here). I know I am not that interesting. So it is completely ok that you do not know this!

I had a partial hysterectomy 9/15/15 to hopefully end the symptoms I was having. This seems kind of extreme, but when you are having cramps so bad that you feel like your in labor and envision yourself physically taking off someones face daily. It sounds way better. Scary I know… My poor family!

After the surgery I felt 100 times better migraines went away so did labor cramps, then last Tuesday an Ovarian Cyst burst. (seriously thought I was dying) Since then I am having symptoms again, great. Called my Doctors yesterday and the nurse said you can be having phantom pains. Well thats just beautiful.

It got me thinking (dangerous pastime I know, name that Disney movie?!)


Sorry, got side tracked…

But I started thinking, I wonder if I could change my diet to help me subside these symptoms. I then googled Endometriosis Diet. What do you know? there is one! And there is a lot of Shit I should be avoiding. Like Gluten, No wonder anytime I eat Pizza or Breads I feel awful! Like I might as well have eaten a brick. Now don’t get me wrong, mama loves pizza, but nothing tastes good enough to feel like that.


If you disagree, theres something wrong with you. hahahaha

Here is what the Endometriosis Diet would look like.

Endo diet

UMMMM that seems like a lot, but it is actually not too far from my current diet. Why do you avoid these?

  • Wheat- Includes bread, cake, and pasta . They contain phytic acid, which can aggravate symptoms. Also they contain gluten which women with endo are sensitive to.
  • Red Meats- causes inflammation and can contain growth hormones.
  • Refined and Concentrated Carbs- includes bread, cake, and pasta most of the nutritional value has been removed.
  • Refined Sugars and Honeys- Causes inflammatory reaction (Certified organic honey is fine)
  • Caffeine- NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO  Increases abdominal Cramps and estrogen levels
  • Chocolate – Blah contains Sugar (see above I do however eat a higher % Cacao which has less sugar)
  • Dairy- Causes inflammatory reaction
  • eggs- Unless you get organic (thank god I decided to be a farmer so we get fresh eggs!) they can contain a chemical residue of dioxin.
  • Fried foods- Although these are awesome. Should be avoided most the time anyway!
  • Saturated fats and oils- Stimulate negative inflammatory prostaglandins
  • Soy and Soy protein products- bad… tamari can be used in small bits.
  • Convenience foods-  They are junk!
  • Tinned foods- Use sparingly. There is exceptions like canned tomatoes, and coconut milk.
  • additives and preservatives- HELLO Chemical Overload.
  • Alcohol- Excuse me while I go Cry…….. This consumes your B vitamins stored in the liver, Good liver function is vital to eliminate estrogen from the body.

I wanted to research this! And I am going to try it out for a while. I would rather not feel like crap.
