Week 2 of The 21 Day Fix Extreme!

Ok… So I am a day behind. I took Saturday off this week, the hubster and I went a way to a adorable Bed and Breakfast in Emlenton, PA. The owners were wonderful! I would recommend this to anyone!

I did not bring my workouts and weights. We go away together once a year. I wanted to enjoy it. And did I ever. I had the most epic cheat day in history. I seriously thought I crumbled any progress I had in one day. So did I quit?

Hell NO! I dusted myself off and jumped back in nutrition and all.

Week 2 how were the workouts? Well still tough. I don’t think they will ever become easy. They will always be a challenge. But I did master the band in Pilate’s! Good bye tangled mess! Woo!

Fix approved blueberry muffins

Ingredients
2 bananas
1 cup blueberries
1 cup strawberries
1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
3 cups oatmeal
1tsp vanilla
1tsp cinnamon (I used pumpkin pie spice)

Throw all of that in a food processor and blend till kind of smooth. This will be thick.

Use a 1/4 cup to pour into a sprayed muffin tin. Will make 12. Bake at 350 for 18 minutes

2 muffins = 1 purple and 1 yellow

My First Week of the 21 Day Fix Extreme.

First off I would like to say… Well played Autumn. These workouts are scorchers and although the bad ass in me comes out when I am done (Like I mentally just erased the last half hour of my life) and says… that wasn’t that bad. My thoughts during Plyo Extreme where she says, “We’re sweating, we’re having fun!” are seriously dude you are trying to kill me! I’m gonna die. Guess what though?! I DON’T. I may be hunched over gasping for air in between and have beads of sweat falling off my face, but I survive and you will too! I promise. They are only 30 minutes long.

The Workouts

Plyo Fix Extreme
Think jumping with weights, there are 5 rounds 2 moves each round. Sometimes you are doing one leg at a time. The only move that does not have weights are the burpees with a tuck just at the end. Each move is 30 seconds. You do have a 30 second break in there before you start the next move! Thank YOU!

Upper Fix Extreme
Arm scorcher. Seriously by the end you arms feel like jelly. You move from each move pretty quickly.

Pilate’s Fix Extreme
All the Pilate’s moves you do with a resistance band. Which made me a tangled mess lol seriously I’m glad I work out at home. I would pause to adjust. But it made Pilate’s way more interesting this is not my favorite and in the original 21 day fix I always ended up dusting or something.

I also did the 10 Min Hardcore Ab woo is all I can say, but hey its 10 min and weighted side hip drops will never be fun!

Lower Fix Extreme
You want slightly heavier weights. I may even add more this week. Most of the moves you do weighted for 30 seconds drop the weights then go onto plyo for that move.

Cardio Fix Extreme
Explosive movement with weights nuff said…

Dirty 30 Extreme
This one was my favorite in the original. Guess what? Still my fave totally body toner! In the first 6 min you are shredding your shoulders and lower body at the same time. Every single move works every inch of your body.

Yoga Fix Extreme
I don’t really care for yoga. I’m not very flexible and I could not hold a single balance move this time. Falling all over the place hahaha, however completely worth it. At the end my body felt amazing!

Now on to the Meal Plan
Ok I decided to follow maintenance, feeling that I do not need to lose any weight right now. So I get…
5 greens
3 purples
5 reds
4 yellows
1 orange
1 blue
5 tsp

I have a hard time getting everything in. Sometimes I feel great others I would kill for chocolate. I have stayed strong. Valentines day was Saturday and my hubster got me chocolate covered pretzels I had 2. So I admit a slight cheat. But I put those bad boys in the cupboard where they have been silently mocking me for days now. Last night I had a long internal battle with myself as to why I deserved a pretzel… I did not cave!

Count Down to Completion
I followed this bad boy twice. I have a new respect for competitors. I never thought it would be hard to eat. That is what you do all day long. Every 2 hours. After dinner at about 6 pm I could not force another meal down. So I skipped 2 meals each time.

But it really works the way my abs cut after the first time. It was like Holy Shit!

Weekly Results!
Even though I am following maintenance I am down 4 lbs! Shocked! I lost an inch in my waist and gained 1/4 in my rear. That means the booty is lifting!!

Do I recommended this program? YES X 10000000000! Is it tough? Absolutely. The hardest part really is the meal plan and talking myself out if the bad choices. I’m a stay at home mom and kids snacks are EVERYWHERE! If it doesn’t challenge it doesn’t change you!

Equipment for Body Beast…

Equipment…

Dumbbells (I used starting at 5, then 8, then adjustable weights with plates. The plates were 2.5, 5, and 10. I also used a  25 lbs. plate for bulk shoulders.)

~an easy bar (if you do not have one, you do not have to go out and buy one. They Modify so you can see the move with a dumbbell!)

Cashew ‘N’ Oat Hotcakes

This is a 21 Day Fix Extreme approved meal. Its actually in the book. So I decided to test them out today! Not bad at all!!

Ingredients
Nonstick cooking spray
2 cups oats
1 dash sea salt
1/2 cup raw cashews
1tsp cinnamon (I used pumpkin pie spice)
1 large egg
1 1/3 cup water
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp melted coconut oil
5 cup mixed berries (I used just strawberries)

1. Put oats, cashews, salt, and cinnamon in a food processor. Pulse until coarsely ground.

2. Add egg, oil, water, and vanilla pulse into well blended.

3. Spray skillet with non stick spray and heat it up.

4. Use a quarter cup of batter in the pan. Cook until brown and flip.

5. Serve with fruit evenly distributed.

Makes 10 servings 2 hotcakes each. A serving is 1 yellow 1 tsp 1/2 purple

My Story!

me close circleI was self-loathing teen mom, that found fitness after losing my dad. I hated everything about my body, not seeing how hard it is for your body to produce another human being. This would make me miserable. Sending that into all aspects of my life.

I became a personal trainer, not realizing staying home with my 3 kids and my husbands crazy schedule that it would be nearly impossible to actual do it. Well then I stumbled upon Beachbody after already completing 2 of the programs. I found a way to reach out to people and stay home still.

Through Beachbody I am able to help people with their health and fitness goals. More importantly I learned to love me, stretch marks and all. I have completely transformed my body and mind (In my Living Room!) What is even better is I can help others learn to be nice to themselves that Positive brings positive.

I love what I do and I make an extra income so we can have some wiggle room. I see my business booming and taking the pressure off my husband so much. So no more out of town in his future. I have some hurtles to overcome they all start with me. I decided to share this amazing opportunity and stop blocking myself and my success.

Body Beast Again? !

What more Body Beast???  Well I liked it the first round so much that I decided to jump into a round 2 (Seriously I normally take some time between them or sporadically do a workout here and there. I have never done more than one round of a 60-90 day program. Why? Because I tend to get bored with doing the same thing over and over? I am a creature of habits with doing a workout, but I want to do something different. That may be why I own so many! Plus I happen to get a nice discount! Want to know how?  Go HERE)

Confessions of a Stay at home Mom…

Ok, I am going to start off by saying that by me writing this, that I feel blessed to be able to stay at home. Do NOT misconstrue this. I just want to give you an inside look.

I have been a stay at home mom since my Mackenzie was born which was in 08. So for over 6 yrs. Minus when my husband was laid off and I went to bartend to make ends meet. Which getting out of the house was wonderful.

I have always just wanted to be a Mom and stay home, that was my life long dream. Imagine Ron’s surprise when I tried to quit. Saying I need a break. This sounds harsh right? I got my dream job, something that I was not certain we would ever be able to do because living on one income is rough. But I always thought it would be easy. HA! I was so wrong. There is never any off time. None. I don’t get to grab a nice lunch like I did when I worked. Or talk to adults really ever, because not many moms stay home anymore.

(Now working Mommy’s, please do not take this as me thinking your lives are easy. I always say I do not know how you get everything done and I did work and go to school with my first child. I honestly cannot remember how I did everything. I’m sure the house work was more divided.)

Now my kids are so used to me doing everything that when Ron is home, they will literally go out of the way to ask me to get them something. I could be in the shower. It does not matter because MOM does it all. Even Ron will be like I am right here why didn’t you ask me?

Some days I pray for bed time, because I spent the day arguing with a 3 yr old. But then you put them to bed and the peace and quiet is so wonderful that before you know it, boom 1 am reading on the alarm clock. Then the same vicious cycle continues.

There are days where I get everything done and I think I finally tackled this and then others where if I shower its a win. Or get them dressed hahaha. So on weekends I want a sitter and I want out of the house. But my husband has rarely gotten to see them and wants the opposite.

There are also days where my heart is so full and I am so happy that I could burst. That I want to share every cute thing they do with the entire world. Like no other kid is doing the exact same thing.

I guess you could say being a Stay At Home Mom, is kind of like being Bipolar. Your emotions and your kids are all over the place. You have your ups and downs. But at the end of the day there is nothing more that you would rather be doing!
